  Operation Feed

For 27 years Operation Feed has provided food for needy families in central Ohio.  Every year, local businesses, government agencies, school children, and civic groups team up to donate critically needed food items and dollars during this community-wide food drive.  Operation Feed is coordinated by Mid-Ohio Foodbank and United Way of Central Ohio.

  Who Needs Help?

Operation Feed helps keep the food shelves stocked in 243 food pantries, soup kitchens and emergency shelters in eight central Ohio counties:  Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Madison, Pickaway, Union, Marion and Morrow.

Hunger is often a condition of poverty.  Children living in poverty frequently face hunger and have the fewest options when it comes to putting food on the table.

Children are at risk for hunger in our own neighborhoods.

  • Nearly 40% of those served by Mid-Ohio Foodbank's network of pantries are children.

  • Mid-Ohio Foodbank provides food for over 345,870 meals for children at pantries every month.

  • Among those families with children served by Mid-Ohio Foodbank agencies, 43% were headed by single parent households

With your food and financial donations, Operation Feed can provide complete, nutritious meals throughout the year for our neighbors in need.

We Count Your Donations in "Meals"!
Both food and dollar donations are measured in meals. We use the following formula to determine meals raised:

One Pound of Food = One Meal and One Dollar = Two Meals

The 2008 Operation Feed Campaign goal is 4.25 million meals.

With your food and financial donations, Operation Feed can provide complete, nutritious meals throughout the year.
